Party Lines
I've never favored one party over the other, but if you ask my family or some of my friends from home, they'll tell you I definitely have liberal leanings. Especially in the realm of health care research.
Much to my delight, the US House and Senate are now controlled by the democrats and have recently backed a bill supporting one of my oh-so-favorite issues, stem cell research. Bush, naturally, has vowed to veto the bill when it arrives to the Oval Office.
I'm getting giddy just thinking about the end of his presidency in 2008 and whether the current domination of the democrats in the House and Senate will still exist. Perhaps I'll be witness to a party's complete domination in at least two branches during my lifetime (I can't actually remember if this happened during Clinton's presidency -- wasn't really concerned with it at the time as I had no voting rights :\).
Either way, I'm counting down to the day a lesser evil will take the place of the monkey that's currently in the White House. Maybe then, a little more progress will occur in the name of science.
